hey guys, for the past few cca sessions our performance has been really really bad.. is there anyone who disagrees? i don't think so right?

i think the problem lies in our dedication to nydizi, if you aren't dedicated enough you wouldn't be bothered to bring your dizi home to lian or even lian over the weekends.. at least lian on your own for 1 or 2 hours over the week? we used to lian everyday, morning pracs and lunch pracs and morning pracs and lunch pracs, but now it seems like many of us don't even bother to attend pracs that are only 1 hr or 30 min long.. if you are really busy then it's okay, but if your reason is 'i dont bother or i have homework to do' or something... do you think you need to reflect on yourself? cca may not be as impt as homework but the concert is in 50+ days time... dazus are so horrendous like other sections are focusing on dynamics and we're still at the fundamental stage of getting our notes out?

there's no point in complaining that you can't play if you don't care! at least if you practise a little, it shows that you're concerned and worried but i'm quite sure that some people don't bother about the no. of days left as indicated on m401 whiteboard.. 50 +14 days 'quite a long time leh'. yeah it's quite long but will you make use of that 50+14 days to lian? or log on to facebook everyday?

BTs are over, i guess everyone (seniors+juniors) should learn to prioritise. concert or BT2? everyone should reflect as well, for those who talk too much during cca till laoshi has to shut us up, and for those who prac a lot but still can't really make it.. maybe it's your practising techniques? and i think everyone has some fault for our performance recently, including me (ha don't try guessing who i am, you won't know).

if you get home early almost everyday, count yourself lucky cos there are dizions who are only free on 1 or 2 weekdays. make use of that time to prac, even if it's just 5 min you can lian your changyin or shuangtu. or you can listen to more CO recordings to get the gan jue of the music. don't really expect everyone to get the feeling cos i guess not all of us are that pro, but when i think of how the syf team did last year as compared to how we're doing this year.. i just can't say anything.. if we can be like the syf team last year, dui4 note to note, lianing everyday, will we still get chided every dazu?

some forms of practices like playing changyin and dui-ing note to note may be stupid and foolish to you but that's part of the dizi tradition and if you don't do it, it shows a lot about your attitude.. some of us hate dizi hate cca hate ___Y __G, but if you don't like dizi, or even your own l__ s__, how can you expect to ace in dizi? just like forcing yourself to like to bake when you dont even like confectionary or your teacher, no matter what you'll never grasp the correct method.

so just take the time to reflect... being a senior doesn't really give you priority not to lian, set good examples for the juniors! and juniors i think they're working quite hard, but they can still work harder. doesn't mean that you're 'very pro' already so 'you don't need to lian also won't die'. even the pro-est person has to maintain his standard.

so i admit that i'm not lianing enough, (ps i found out that 3 hrs plus a week on your own is seriously not enough) SO TAKE ACTION! don't sit there and complain that you dont have time to prac, it's not up to you to decide whether you have time or not, it's a matter of making time for yourself. if you're really that busy, no one will mind if you lian alone during breaks. or after school too.

TAKE ACTION AND REFLECT OKAY, if we continue like this we'll dui bu qi our pro seniors. jiayou everyone :)

edit: i remembered something.. please pay attention during dazu! a little talking is fine but don't get too overboard! sometimes we talk too much and we dont come in when we have to, it really 'tarnishes our reputation'! and if you're free, perhaps you could listen to the recordings on this blog and be amazed at how far we have to go to be like them.. sorry for the dark post, i'm creating tension and irony in the audience :)
